Pirate Radio Boston had been putting out a pretty nice AM signal lately. Always stronger here in the evening hours but here is a screenshot from this morning around 1350Z.

This blog is in support of my SDR-IQ software defined radio which I share over the web with shortwave listeners, DXers, amateur radio operators, pirate radio enthusiasts and anyone interested in radio. I will post information about antennas, local interference sources, outages, etc. To get the most from my server, download the latest version of SDR-RADIO from sdr-radio.com and connect at sdrspace.com. Look for the server: SWL/Halifax. Please leave comments!

Frequencies To Avoid
The receiver is located less than 1 km over seawater from a Canadian Coast Guard transmitter site. It is partly leased to Globe Wireless. Their channel markers appear at about 8.675 Mhz and 13.0335 Mhz.
There may be others, but those are the worst.
The Coast Guard broadcasts HF weatherfax on request at about 6.913 Mhz. Once a day or so, you may hear a Notice to Mariners broadcast at 2749 Khz.
